Adán Sánchez

Adán Santos Sánchez Vallejo (April 14, 1984 in Torrance, California - March 27, 2004), was a popular Mexican-American singer, the son of corridista singer Chalino Sanchez.
Sánchez was raised in Paramount. He was 8 years old when his father was murdered on May 16, 1992 after a gig in Sinaloa -- the same Mexican state where the younger Sánchez met his untimely end.
He was en route to a gig in Tuxpan when the car he was riding in blew two tires. Sánchez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected when the car flipped over. The two other passengers, including his manager, suffered minor injuries. Sánchez died at the scene. He was 19 years old. An estimated 10,000 fans jammed the streets outside the Norwalk, California church where his funeral mass was held. Sanchez is more popular in the U.S. among Mexican-Americans than in Mexico.
"Always & Forever" is a stageplay dramatizing the impact of Adán Sánchez' death on a group of young people in South Los Angeles. The play examines various aspects of Mexican-American culture (such as quinceañeras, banda music, and Jesus Malverde), and is currently under development at the Watts Village Theater Company[1] in Watts, CA. "Always & Forever" will premiere in April 2007 at the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood.
